RS-F905 Four-Port UHF RFID Reader FAQ

What is the maximum reading distance of the RS-F905?

The RS-F905 supports a reading distance of up to 25 meters. Actual read range depends on the connected antenna, RFID tag performance, reader output power, tag orientation, installation position, and surrounding environment.

Can the RS-F905 connect to four RFID antennas?

Yes. The RS-F905 is a 4 port RFID reader equipped with four SMA antenna interfaces. Multiple antennas can be installed to cover different directions, entrances, lanes, or identification points.

Can the reader output power be adjusted?

Yes. RF output power can be configured from 5dBm to 33dBm in 1dBm steps. Adjusting the output power helps control coverage and reduce unwanted tag reads outside the intended reading area.

Does the RS-F905 support different regional UHF frequencies?

Yes. Available frequency ranges include 902–928MHz for North America, 865–868MHz for Europe, and 920–925MHz for China. The correct configuration should be selected according to the deployment region and local regulations.

How can the RS-F905 connect to an existing management system?

The reader supports RJ45, RS-232, or RS-485 communication. It also provides relay outputs and optically isolated inputs for integration with management software, sensors, access gates, indicators, and industrial automation equipment.

Does the RS-F905 support wireless communication?

Optional 4G or Wi-Fi communication is available according to the selected configuration. Customers should confirm the required communication method and module configuration before ordering.

Can the RS-F905 be installed outdoors?

The standard RS-F905 enclosure is rated IP54. With an appropriate waterproof housing, the protection level can reach IP65. For outdoor deployment, the reader, antenna connectors, power supply, cables, and mounting accessories should all be protected according to site conditions.

Can the RS-F905 read passive UHF RFID tags?

Yes. The RS-F905 is a passive RFID tag reader that supports EPC Class 1 Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6C tags. The tag frequency must match the reader’s configured regional UHF band.
